For many people, being able to travel extensively is one of the main goals for achieving financial wealth. Experiences, like travel, are some of life’s best rewards for working hard and achieving financial success.
You’ll note that many of these goals overlap in that attending a major cultural event could allow you to visit an entertainment city, and accomplish a travel-the-world goal, all in one.
When my family was reviewing this list together, we did the math to determine that someone in their twenties following this goal list would need to achieve one of these travel goals once every 5 years or so. We were concerned there might be too much travel, but a trip once every 5 years seems like a realistic goal to strive for, especially if travel is important to you, and you are able to achieve your financial and career goals.
Just a caution, though, that these goals will require sufficient financial means to be able to experience, and this kind of travel should never be paid through credit cards for which you can’t afford to pay the full balance.
You can travel economically or luxuriously, but ensure you understand when you’re financially sound. Some of these goals may require a decade, or several decades, before you are ready.
